Last week’s start of YaYa’s conditioning sessions jumpstarted the baseline building phase of my own training. I’ve enjoyed a little too much R & R – lost speed, endurance, and focus. But I’m planning to get it all back and MORE.
I’m on my way. It’s been 1 week and already I’m seeing improvement. Last week, 400 repeats x 4 (wearing my Asics) lead to huffing and puffing. Tonight’s 400 repeats x 6 (wearing my Vibram fivefingers) lead to a lot of “right on” pats on the back.
I plan to initiate my long run building as well. This weekend calls for 8-10 miles.

I’ve had my Vibrams since December and have only walked in them. I need to start baby steps with running with them. I’ll be interested to hear how you do with them and how you quickly/slowly you transition to them. I don’t see myself going exclusively with them, but would like to start! :-) Good job on the intervals. I’m giving you another “right-on” pat on the back. You go, girl!
