You may remember last year, after seeing Up, how I was left in serious reflection. I like it when a movie will do that – even if it evokes a few tears. This year, Shrek is that movie.
While I’ve seen some explain Shrek’s boredom with his life as a midlife crisis, I’m not sure that I would call it that. Whether it’s boredom, feeling like you haven’t made an impact, or other, I think there are many who lack an appreciation for their lives.
Even I fall in the Pit of Pity or If Only from time to time. Fortunately, I have a few good people who are happy to throw down a rope and encourage me to climb out. For this, I am thankful.
Count your blessings not your misgivings. Who is there for you throwing your rope when you need one?

funny when movies touch us like this. Scott had a hard time with Up too, I hope he doesn’t read this I’ve been trying to get him to go see Shrek.
