With hand picked flower from our yard and a homemade card, YaYa and I brought his teacher to tears. Today marks another year since loosing her father. Sadly, we share an understanding regarding the pain that lives on year after year in spite of the moving on.
So many people tiptoe around days like this thinking that you’ll forget if they just don’t bring it up. We know better. We know how much healing comes from a simple recognition of the loss. Perhaps its respect for the dead. I don’t know.
As for our day, I’m not making any commitments and am also trying not to have any expectations for the day either. It will be what it is. And I hope it is good.
One thing is for sure: I will steer clear of treadmills.

You can say the wrong thing. You can say the right thing and people will hear the wrong thing. With a simple act of kindness, the message is clear :-)
