Recently, a friend fell ill with a bad case of the crud. Worried that I’d get sick, I was urged to stay away. Yet the nurse inside me wanted to help – badly. After all, providing TLC is right up my alley.
Although I have no magic remedy to speed the recovery process, being able to do something (anything) somehow feels like the perfect medicine. Call it “placebo effect,” I don’t care. I just want to help.
If by chance, I do get sick, well then perhaps they can return the favor.
