Different people have different approaches to kicking off the new year. It’s been a long time since I’ve referred to resolutions of any sort. Yet each year, the underlying question looms: What will I do differently this year?
In 2008, Jen (aka Positively Mom) first took on a one-little-word approach to the new year which she read about on Ali Edwards’ site. The basic idea is that you pick a single word to inspire you for the year. It is something you strive towards as the year progresses.
The moment I read about the one little word idea, I LOVED it. It’s simple and, at the same time, complex. It has the whole New Years’ Resolutions feel but without the long list of items you look at a year from now and come up with reasons why none of it happened. I’ve decided that I must take on the one little word approach too.
So…after much consideration, my little word of 2010 is: HEALTH (Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Financial…)
What’s your word for 2010?
FUN!
Booyah! :-)
Well, one little word, yes, but it packs a punch! Go, Juls!
Stability
enthusiasm
Organization.
Everything in my life needs organization!
Ha, we do this too my son and I! The world we agreed on for 2010 is “strength”. I don’t know exactly what it means, but it sounds good when we fist bump.
Remaining STEADFAST, with my healthy eating, fitness and positive attitude that have developed over the last few years.
I have two: Relax, (meaning letting go the small stuff and enjoy the right now) Jelly roll, (meaning attempt to loose it once and for all…)
Completion.
