Be careful who you complain to or, to be more precise, be careful who you let help you. It may later be taken out of context and mistaken for something far beyond the innocent good deed that it is. I’ll be the first to say that this is a sad reality of the world today. We should all be willing to help a friend. Perhaps, if that was more the norm than the oddity, an isolated good deed would be looked upon as just that.
Although I may whine from time to time, feel discouraged about not being in my long sought after BQ capable state, I am certainly no damsel-in-distress. I take pride in my ability to stand on my own two feet (wobbly as they sometimes are). Therefore, when things like this morning’s unfortunate occurrence come up, my instinct is to revert back to a do-it-yourself (take help from nobody) modality. If you’ve known me for any period of time, you know that it is really hard for me to rely on others. If I can do it myself, I will, even if I means sacrificing the things that keep me sane.
I really, really, really do not want to go back to being afraid to need others. Really!

There are people who seem to stick their noses in everyone’s business. Their hearing is so acute that there is no such thing as “just between you and me.” They are in EVERY conversation that occurs in the building, like it or not. This is because, not only can they hear you, but they ALWAYS have an opinion to share.
