Lately, my blogging has taken on a bit of minimalism. It is not that I am giving up the hobby; it’s more of a change in my view of what I want my writing to be. Let me explain…
Toward the end of 2011, I had an interesting conversation with another writer who has not posted anything to her blog in many months. When I asked why, she spoke of the “noise” that is everywhere these days (on FB, Twitter, etc). She went on to reason that she did not want to add to the pollution with worthless chatter.
Honestly, I think she has a good point. Soon after my conversation with her, I renamed my Daily Photo category to “Not So Daily Photo” and decided that unless I have something worthy of sharing, I will refrain. Of course, I realize that not everything I feel is worthy of posting will be worthy of reading.
Each of you come here for different reasons, and different topics draw you in. I will try to vary it but in the event that I have not posted on a topic that you’d like to read more about (assuming it’s something that I have some sort of experience or opinion on), please feel free to leave a comment to make your request known.
As I’ve said before, your comments help my writing tremendously; knowing who is reading gives me someone to write to. So please don’t be afraid to comment. In turn, I will try to refrain from polluting the blogosphere with blah-blah-blah, uninteresting photos, and the like.
If you want to be sure not to miss a beat, please add my URL to your feed reader so that you will be alerted to new posts without having to keep clicking over to check.
pollute the blogosphere as much as you want. The choice to come here is mine.
I read. I’m just poor at commenting.
I would say… a well-written blog-post (or a photo which captures a moment) is quite a bit different from the internet noise (of amusing one-liners, complaints, cheers).
