It’s been a LONG time since my photography class at the community college. Sadly, I’m afraid that I forgot a lot of the key take-aways.
Fortunately, I have a few honest friends who know photography really well. Friends who are willing to question my framing of a shot and point me in the direction of photography websites that discuss basic and not so basic concepts.
My ego eventually gets past the initial feeling of hurt.
Lately, I’ve been focusing my attention on composition. The Rule of Thirds, Focal Points, and Framing are just a few of the concepts I’ve been reading up on. Maybe I don’t get it right on the 1st shot, or the 2nd, or even the 3rd. Maybe I don’t ever quite get it just right.
Still, I am enjoying the exploration of how a simple shift to the right or left changes the photo.
Photography experimentation: it’s kind of fun.
