My mom is scheduled to have a hip replacement this coming Monday. Having had numerous prior surgical procedures (including spinal fusions, knee and ankle replacements, and foot reconstruction), Mom is no stranger to the Operating Room. Still, she is nervous as heck. I can’t say that I blame her. There is always a level of risk to such procedures. I’m nervous, and I’m not the one having the procedure.

I felt like YaYa today – wanting to ignore my alarm and sleep into the afternoon. This week has been long one. These 4-day work weeks are nice but packing 5 days of work into 4 is tiring. In addition, my daily practice has been intensified by an additional pose to master. This has made me sore in new places and a little fatigued.
YaYa has had the week off from school, thereby free in the evenings to watch TV. We have been watching movies and The Office TV series together an hour or two past my regular bedtime. That makes it a little harder to wake up in the morning.
Although I have missed a lot of the episodes, I have caught many of them. Both YaYa and BoBo have watched them ALL.
Last night, we watched the final episode and I commented on the irony of how the show has grown on my despite how much I loathed the show when Tom used to turn it on. He LOVED the show; I HATED it.
Now that I am working in a [different] corporate environment of quirky people, I kind of like it too. Of course, it helps to be spending time, kicking back, laughing with my son(s) – and, in a lot of ways, Tom too.
