We are now taking the trip to Yosemite that we entertained taking over Christmas break. At the time, we were only able to secure the UN-heated tent cabins. We didn’t end up going as I wasn’t embracing the idea of a cold weather vacation without the ability to escape the cold.
Today, as we make our approach, there is a blanket of white on the ground. We haven’t even gotten into Yosemite National Park. I’m cold already but content in knowing that we will have heat when we finally arrive. We have reservations in the HEATED tent cabins.
It’s snow covered and beautiful.
I have a collection of corks — saved from nearly every bottle of wine opened in my home-sweet-home. They are collecting in the vases in my kitchen window. I also have a few bags full in the garage.
What I am going to do with them?
I have no idea.
I
am convinced that YaYa could sleep until tomorrow if I’d let him.
Okay…that may be an exaggeration but still. This boy loves his sleep.
Over Christmas, I found myself in a cutesy little flower boutique. The majority of the customers were there for last minute holiday decor.
This place had the most elegant holiday-themed table arrangements, holiday wreaths, and garlands. But that’s not all.
They also had the most lovely and unique flowers I’d ever seen. It was all I could do not to buy myself a few for my bedroom. After all, my birthday would be in just a few days.
I love flowers. Don’t you?
I talked myself out of the self-indulgence, reasoning that I might not even be home in the days following Christmas. There were so many tentative plans afloat that I couldn’t keep track. One of the options was a trip to Yosemite, which we had to put off. In the end, we stayed in town.
