Do you ever feel like a bird who is being forced to take flight?
Just when you’ve finally gotten your grounding, some kid tries to grab hold of your tail feathers.

Right or wrong, I get more pleasure in watching YaYa’s face when I give him a few dollars to pass on to the needy than from the look on the recipient’s face.
Of course, I’m not talking about this guy. Today’s recipient was at the entrance of the shopping center.
Even when timed immediately after the allowance discussion, I don’t need to clarify who the money is for. Though the smile that crosses YaYa’s face might lead you to believe that he thought the money was for him to keep, it is evident that his joy comes in helping others in need.
And although I don’t want either of us to give it all away, it does make me very proud to have a son who truly cares about the world around him. I have a strong feeling that he will indeed grow up and make this world a better place.
In the meantime, I would be happier if he would make “our” world a cleaner place by cleaning his room.
There are people who seem to stick their noses in everyone’s business. Their hearing is so acute that there is no such thing as “just between you and me.” They are in EVERY conversation that occurs in the building, like it or not. This is because, not only can they hear you, but they ALWAYS have an opinion to share.
*sigh*
At home, I have similar occurrences. Simba seems to think that he needs to be involved in every activity — especially if it involves food.
It’s a good thing I love these creatures.
I’m sure my colleagues are wondering why I chose to work from home today. Certainly my teenage son is old enough to be left alone. However, there are times when leaving a teenage boy to his own devices has too much potential to lead to bad things happening. It’s not that I think that YaYa will leave the house in search of trouble. Not at all. However, he could go out in search of junk food, skip eating any real food all together, and run around with the dogs until they all collapse from exhaustion.
Today, I’ve decided that I can get my day’s worth of work done, throw a load or two into the laundry, and give me boy the TLC that I wish I was always around to provide him with. And although he is sitting on the couch with a bag of Doritos, he also has a hot cup of lemon, ginger, honey, has had his back pounded, taken a decongestant, and eaten a decent breakfast.
There we were, driving down the road, minding our own business when traffic suddenly came to a halt. Ahead of us, the cars were all stopped in a cockeyed fashion. The passengers peering out their windows toward the side of the road.
We stopped too. We had no choice. We joined in on the gawking as well for along the side of the road was a handsome fellow.
I pulled out my camera to take a picture of him, less I forget just what a beautiful creature he was.
