Since the time change, I’ve been getting home before the sun sets. The evening light is amazing. It invites me outside to enjoy the last bit of the day. In this way, I no longer feel as if I’ve missed it all.
I grab my camera and head out. I make my best attempt in preserving the beauty of the magic in this time of year. It’s a nice contrast to the sadness that comes from losing so many loved ones in March.
Although my initial flower of interest was the California Poppies at the end of the block, these mini Bird of Paradise (BOP) flowers really catch the sunlight. I’d be a fool to pass them by without another look.
They are smaller than the traditional BOP and topped with yellow instead of orange.
They kind of remind me of a punk rocker with spiky yellow hair.

Admittedly I’ve never stopped to look at one before. Love the pics and now I think I will stop and look next time.
