Right or wrong, I get more pleasure in watching YaYa’s face when I give him a few dollars to pass on to the needy than from the look on the recipient’s face.
Of course, I’m not talking about this guy. Today’s recipient was at the entrance of the shopping center.
Even when timed immediately after the allowance discussion, I don’t need to clarify who the money is for. Though the smile that crosses YaYa’s face might lead you to believe that he thought the money was for him to keep, it is evident that his joy comes in helping others in need.
And although I don’t want either of us to give it all away, it does make me very proud to have a son who truly cares about the world around him. I have a strong feeling that he will indeed grow up and make this world a better place.
In the meantime, I would be happier if he would make “our” world a cleaner place by cleaning his room.
