BoBo has officially been sworn in to the Air Force – finally. BoBo has been waiting months for this. He’s so jazzed. He called me to share the details of the process. It’s quite involved. I had no idea.
The enthusiasm in BoBo’s voice was wonderful to hear. I’ll admit, I do have moments of being petrified for his safety. What parent wouldn’t? We’re at war after all. I am immensely proud of him for marching forth so-to-speak and taking charge of his life again.
Being in charge, however, is somewhat of an illusion – at least now that he has signed on the dotted line. You see, unlike in civilian life where job negotiations happen BEFORE you sign, BoBo has agreed to 4 years of service without knowing what his job will be. He has provided the top 20 jobs that he’d like to do. Yet Military Police, as far as I am aware, is the ONLY job he is really interested in.
Once again are waiting, only this time, it is to find out his job and his ship date.
