The weekend seemed to take forever to get here. Aside from it being a rather long and drawn out work week, the weekend plans have made it all the more difficult to wait.
Yes, I’ve got another fun weekend in store for me. This time, YaYa is coming along for the ride.
Now that it’s here, I’ve got so much to do before we head out on our road trip.
Ready: Checking Ronin in at the doggie hotel is the first step towards getting out the door. He’s got a bonus in store for him. It’s called an exit bath.
Set: Of course I allotted just enough time to get a RUN in before our departure. A bit of lingering knee pain has kept my post-marathon runs on the shorter side. I think I appreciate them more.
GO: I’ve developed this new tendency to keep adding things to my pile of stuff until it’s finally time to leave. This is one reason why running is a critical part of getting road-trip-ready.

Your post has me thinking about how I need to start getting ready NOW for my big road trip coming up next week — two weeks, driving to Kerrville, Texas for the music festival (yep, that’s a lot of miles). Maybe next year there will be a West Coast tour. ;)

I used to start packing at least a week ahead. I’d pull out my suitcase and start dropping throughout the week. Then, as time drew nearer, I’d dump everything out onto the floor and do a thorough inventory. This time around, because I knew that my traveling buddy was not yet packed, I began the day of departure. I worked but I don’t recommend it.
