Have you ever had trouble falling to sleep? For me, it has been a common occurrence for most of my life. I’ve tried meditating, taking hot baths, drinking warm milk or hot tea, and counting sheep. None of it seems to work. Even my sleeping pills have a questionable efficacy. What have you tried?

I’ve had alcohol induced insomnia… Sux, but the cure is easy :-)

Juls,
I’m usually a pretty good sleeper, but I read once that “counting backwards” from 99 slowly is good. Seems silly, but I’ve done it a few times and it must work, because I don’t get far. :-) I’ve heard massages are good too.

Reading…I’m a huge book nerd, so I always have good book by the bed side (it’s rare that I don’t read a few pages before bed). Mystery novels are my favorite. But if I can’t fall asleep or wake up & can’t fall back asleep, I pick up the book. But I have to be careful, if the book is really REALLY good, I don’t want to fall asleep so I can keep reading! :) But I find after a few pages, my mind realizes it’s had enough & quickly drops back into slumber. Boring books are good too. :)
