In these past two days I’ve been people watching while sitting around in town cars, on planes, and in airports. One thing is obvious; there are A LOT of handsome men out there. Unfortunately, the majority of them are sporting wedding rings. And while I seem to have a knack for striking up conversations with just about anyone, it’s pretty much just small talk. I might as well be running past in the opposite direction doing my “hello” thing.

When I am heading in the same direction — be it boarding a plane or waiting for coffee — my flirtatious and friendly manner seems to equate only to small talk. It’s as if there is a sign on my back that says Don’t Ask; Don’t Tell. So…they don’t. Even when I am lucky enough to have a friend help to identify suitable men to hook me up with, the set up falls short. It’s still early in the game for the most recent match-not-made, but I’m quickly losing hope on this one too.

Mr United is an eligible pilot who is around my age, has never been married, and who is apparently a real “sweetheart” according to my coworker from the running store. He’s had my email address for over a week now and apparently checked out my picture on FB. I’m afraid that the profile picture I had up of me and BoBo may have sent him running the other direction while murmuring “kids…she has kids” because I’ve yet to hear from him and I’m pretty sure his plane has landed long enough for him to send an email.  *sigh*

It’s probably better that he bails before any attachment has been made. Still, even an email to say “Sorry, I’ve changed my mind” would have been nice. I hate having things up in the air like this.
