Many times over, I hear people say that the leaves in fall just don’t turn colors in California. And yet, I am constantly in awe at the beautiful colors appearing all around me.
On Saturday, I came upon this tree while out running at my favorite open space preserve. It was so breathtaking, with the sun coming up behind it, that I had to stop to take a picture.
For the majority of the run, I exclaimed how wonderful it was to be out running on such a beautiful day, in such a great place, with such great company. My friend, Cindy, agreed. It was just so nice to be alive.
After our run, she joined me at YaYa’s football game to see his team celebrate yet another win. Of course, she had to check out Mr. Football a little bit too. We laughed hysterically at ourselves and I had the best time doing just that.
No matter where you live, if you haven’t enjoyed the fall leaves, go outside and seek them out. Enjoy them before they fall to the ground.

Amen! You should see the trees at the elementary school down the street! Just gorgeous!

They REALLY don’t change here. Sounds beautiful!!

Down in this part of California, except for the liquidamber (sweet gum) we don’t get much of a color change. Cool that you stopped to enjoy it and share with the rest of us.

Oh, come on guys and gals, you just have to look for it. I used to think the same thing.
