Some people are rule breakers. Others follow the rules nearly all of the time. I generally fall into the latter category. If I break a rule, it is usually through my own ignorance. As it turns out, my participation in NaBloPoMo didn’t quite measure up where rules are concerned.
For starters, we already know that my post on November 21st did not arrive to my website until November 22nd. More than that, I actually did not realize that this year’s NaBloPoMo website had a separate place to add your daily blog posts. I just figured that it would mysteriously appear by RSS or by some other web-feed magic. My bad; I should have explored the website more carefully. Still, I am happy to discover that I am not the only one. And, of course, I would not be ME if I didn’t try to rectify my omissions by adding them now. After all, I am the same person who has been known to run past my house just so the GPS will read a nice round number. So, why not?
Well, I still enjoyed the challenge of posting everyday. It was especially interesting while on Thanksgiving holiday when I found myself driving around the neighborhood one night trying to find an unprotected wireless connection. I envisioned having to explain to the police that it was National Blog Posting Month and that I needed to connect to get my blog post uploaded for the day. What’s more, I felt so proud of my discovery that I could get a connection (however weak) if I sat in the front walkway of the beach house with my computer. I never expected to win any awards anyhow; I just wanted to be a part of the game.
Addendum: There is no need to also post on the NaBloPoMo website as well. Somehow, it gets tracked even if you just post on your own blog.
There’s only one week left. Keep on posting.

I did not know that, either, about the separate place to add the blog posts! No biggie, though. I just wanted to see if I could manage one post per day! I did sign up, though. They should make the “rules” more clear for next time.
Hooray. One week left!

I had no idea we were supposed to post anywhere but our blog. She said she had a blog-o-meter or something to see if you were posting every day. Crap. Now I have to do a mass update I guess because there are prizes and I LOVE prizes!

Wait! I think I’m safe. From the site
“You can do your posting here, you can do it on your blog, or you can cross-post in both places, it’s completely up to you. ”

I just ran past my house tonight to get to an even three. I can’t stand stopping with uneven numbers.

So you were out War Driving on vacation looking for a hotspot eh? LOL. I admit borrowing the neighbors connections on vacation too :-)

If I don’t win something from posting every day, I’m gonna be one mad chick!
