I’m exhausted from a very long day. I cut out of Arlington at 1:30 pm and waited a Dulles airport until my flight boarded at 5:00 pm. The plane sat on the runway for 30 minutes past pushback, but we still came in right on time thanks to reduced winds.
The boys were still awake, happy, and healthy when I came through the door. They’re now nestled all snug in their beds, and I am trying to wind down just a bit so that I can fall right to sleep. After many sleepless nights in a row, I sure hope that tonight will be different. I now appreciate my uncomfortable but familiar bed. I can already feel my body relaxing. It’s getting lulled to sleep by Lucky’s sleepy breaths.
It’s good to be back – home sweet home.
