Running wild
Can you have your cake and eat it too?
When my son says “Oh Mom, we need to go shopping” it’s a sign that a long night is ahead. After I was presented with his mock up for his edible cell — involving cake, jello, and other various candies — I basically freaked.
Sadly, it’s true. I completely lost it. The whole way home, my mind entertained thoughts of how much easier the homework load was in our old public school.
Go your own way
Today’s mass began with the congregation outside the church. By the time I reached my pew, somebody was in my spot — separating me from my young boy-friend.
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen eachother. In this short time, I can see that he’s grown some. No longer does he hold tightly to his mother’s leg. In fact, he actually wanders away on occaision.
Throughout the service I did my thing and he did his. Every now and again, one of us glanced over at the other to exchange a smile.
Timing is everything, and now is not the time for me and this young lad. Now is a time for him to learn and grow… and play.
I must admit that I’m enjoying watching him from afar and hearing of his little adventures almost as much as our little exchanges.
Jump sky high
Sometimes, you must do what ever it takes in order to nab quality family time. Today, that meant heading off the the trampolines for a 2-hour session of jumping as soon as I’d finished my 20-mile long run. We had a blast but oh was I ever sore.
BoBo has a playful side to him that can only mean one thing — when you come down, he might time his jump to send you flying. *sigh* It took me a while to let down my guard. After a bit, I was flying high too.
We took our turn at dodgeball too. This would be dodgeball played on trampolines. It’s quite fun…I think. My throws kept getting caught putting me out of the game.
We did a few rounds of dodgeball before going back to the trampolines. At this point, YaYa was climbing the walls and BoBo was doing back flips. I can’t say that my tricks were as fancy.
I was just having fun being with my boys. Tomorrow, BoBo heads back to the island.
