In the early morning light, it is quiet and peaceful. The sun slowly emerges, the birds begin to sing, and Señor Yappy starts up his barking. I sip my coffee, take in the view out my window, and smile.
collide
The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You’re barely waking
And I’m tangled up in you, yeah
I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find you and I collide
I’m quiet you know
You make a first impression
I’ve found I’m scared to know
I’m always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find you and I collide
Don’t stop here
I lost my place
I’m close behind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find you and I collide
You finally find you and I collide
You finally find you and I collide

morning glory
“A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books.”
–Walt Whitman
…or the little buds on my orchid against the morning sunrise. Yeah. That too.
Natural Beauty
The morning sun has a way of bring out the natural beauty in things. Whether it is these lovely orchids of mine, my ever-hungry dog, the sleepy face of a loved one, or simply the 1st cup of coffee, my mornings are filled with a bit of magic. True or not, these beautiful things make me feel beautiful in spite of my tasseled hair and morning breath — simply because they remind me how good it is to be alive and well.
What are the things that bring out your natural beauty?
