Whoever said “The squeaky wheel gets the oil” was not working with my health maintenance organization (HMO) provider. No less than 5 phone calls, 5 emails, & 4 days later and, still, I do not have any news as to what is going on with my body. For all I know, the digital record of my x-rays has been corrupted or, worse yet, deleted. Assuming that the injury is soft-tissue damage, rather than bone, it’s likely that the x-rays will be inconclusive – which is why I am so frustrated with the delays. The real diagnostic test, therefore the development of a treatment plan, is just getting further delayed.
Meanwhile, my free time in the coming weeks will be filled with baseball. It all begins tonight when YaYa’s team will battle it out for 1st place the major division’s main season. The winner of tonight’s game will finalize the seeding for the division playoffs that begin later this week. Additionally, tonight’s winner will compete in the district-wide Tournament of Champions (TOC).
All of this baseball is sure to keep me off my feet. Hopefully, everyone will be happy when it’s all said-and-done. In the meantime, I guess I’ll need to decide on my own if I should slip on my old friend “The Boot” for a while — since the doctor doesn’t seem to want to grease the skids on this squeeky wheel.
