What was once green and vibrant, now lies limp on the ground.
And although its color has long gone, it is still beautiful to me.
The day is only half way through and already I wish we could just fast-forward to the end. Maybe it’s just a case of the Fall Funk. I don’t know. I only know that I want to curl up under the covers and hibernate… until Spring. I’m serious, though perhaps exaggerating a teensy bit.
After a sleepless night, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and just felt all-wrong right from the start. Now my throat is sore and I’ve got the chills.
Maybe it’s just the change in weather, but maybe it’s more. You see, two of the folks I went to the concert with have fallen ill and are awaiting strep culture results. So it could be more than just a case of the Fall Funk. And that wouldn’t all bad; I can’t afford to go into hibernation.

There’s something special about seeing the American flag waving in the sky.

…especially, with such a beautiful sky as it’s back drop.
There I was, leaning out my bedroom window, camera in hand, waiting patiently for the sun to come out in all it’s brilliance. Initially, with it peeping out just the tiniest bit, it seemed like it would happen in just a minute or two. So I called YaYa over to enjoy the moment with me.
We waited, and waited, and waited.
In the meantime, I played around with the aperture and shutter speeds in an attempt to master the manual process. I snapped photos in every direction, of birds flying by, squirrels on the neighboring rooftops, and anything else that came into view. It is quite possible that my efforts to capture this shot were making my neighbors a wee bit uneasy.
The results were a sad excuse for the worst photography experiment. I finally settled back to my usual modes. *sigh* I wasn’t getting anymore comfortable with my camera. Still…we waited.
