He’ll stare at you with his big blue and brown eyes, drool on your leg, and make you feel just a little bit guilty about that calorie-dense decadence that you’ve chosen for breakfast. Perhaps you’ll give him a little nibble today. Or perhaps you won’t. Rest assured, tomorrow, he’ll give you a chance to make it up to him.
stairway to heaven

big, big rocks
Yesterday, we stole away for a nice long hike among the big, big rocks. It was breathtakingly beautiful all around. And of course I was lucky enough to be out with The Man and The Boy (aka YaYa) who are even more beautiful inside and out.

I freaked out trying to follow YaYa up to a higher vista point where the view was spectacular but my fight-or-flight instincts were kicked into full tilt. And the thing is, it wasn’t nearly as high as the rock these guys were on. Then again, we didn’t have any ropes.
grist for the mill
When Cindy and I are out for a long adventure, getting lost is usually a part of the fun. We find all sorts of new and exciting places, stop and goof off in what ever why suits us at that moment, and often times log a few more miles than we planned. It’s all grist for the mill. Right?

We return to civilization worn out and often kind of loopy headed. And then we make plans to do it again really soon.
the light of the world
I’m not one to quote the bible but this photo made me think of the following verse which I have always loved.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, where it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men.
