Peering through stained glass
I missed church yesterday. Missed it. It didn’t even enter my mind until mid-morning.
Then tonight, I arrived at YaYa’s school with ample time to waste during his basketball practice. The lovely hills caught my eye causing me to turn towards the church. It looked inviting with its beautiful stained glass windows glowing in the setting sunlight. So I went in.
Moments later, I found myself kneeling in a pew and feeling blessed for all that I have discovered about myself in these past few years. I’ve changed. I’ve grown. And I’ve made many new and different friends. For this, I am so grateful
I thought about all of this while peering through the stained glass in search of today’s daily photo. I am happy to have taken the time for my weekly hello.
Warmly
A year ago, when I needed both an escape and another perspective, I jetted off to the San Juan islands to visit my good friend, Lisa. YaYa and I have a wonderful time with her lovely family eating, drinking, laughing, and crying. It’s was friendship is. It is awesome.
Lisa is the sort of friend who isn’t afraid to set me straight when needed. Of course she always does it in the most loving way which is why we are still close — in spite of her living a million miles away. Even now, I call her just so she can let me have it straight.
As I was leaving for the airport after a beautiful and snowy visit, Lisa’s daughter, Amy gave me this scarf. The scarf lives up to the promise to keep both my neck and heart filled with warmth and love. I wear it nearly every day.
