Since my last post, titled “Recalculating“, I haven’t done much running at all. It’s as if my navigation system has stalled and left me sitting on the side of the road scrapping the mud off my shoes. For a few weeks, I swapped out my traditional running shoes for my vibram fivefingers and slowly ramped up the mileage to 3 miles. Then, running got pushed aside once again for other activities that have been fighting for my time and energy — while keeping my bodily discomfort at a tolerable level.
You see, even something non-physical like helping my mom cope with life’s technical, password-rich tasks can stress me out when I have too many things of my own to do and not enough free time. And still, I am happy to be working my fulltime job. I need it!
All of this, is to say that I do not have a Plan B for my 2024 Half Marathon. However, there is a lot of adventures I would like to carve out time for in the coming months. In the interim, I remain very active with strength training, yoga, and other outdoorsy, wellness-focused activities.
