Whether you are clapping your hands, blowing a kiss, or waving good-bye, our hands are such an integral part of our communication. At least they are for me.
This of mural showing the hands of 53 Silicon Valley residents reaching skyward is one of the many eye-catching art pieces at Mineta International Airport. It is part of the many Public Art Programs popping up at airports all over the US… and beyond. The project spotlights the Art + Technology in all it’s “diversity, creativity, and dynamism” that defines the city and surrounding valley.
The artist is Christian Moeller and this mural titled “Hands” is comprised of plastic pixels attached to metal mesh. It spans the 1,200 foot length of this seven story parking structure. Obviously, I did not photograph the entire mural. The bulk of it is on the other side. To view more of Christian’s artwork, including a photo of the entire mural, check out his gallery.

This is such a fabulous picture. Iove the crest of the road before the amazing hands. And the B/W conversion is PERFECT. Way to go!
