Which do you want to hear 1st?
My heart sank as I heard my son say, “Ma, I’ve got some bad news…” It felt like 5 minutes passed before he said the next words. My mind quickly went through an inventory of what BoBo would classify as “bad news.” Clearly there was a wide range of possibilities ranging from the breakup of he & his girlfriend to being deployed. I waited…
Just minutes before, I received a message from my doctor stating that my x-rays were “normal.” In the same message, she stated that soft tissue damage has a “high probability” of healing well, then noted she was referring me to orthopedics for further follow up. Although not definitive, I opted to take this as Good News.
As for BoBo’s Bad News…
Apparently our Christmas holiday will be minus yet another person this year as my son will not be allowed to travel home for the holidays. As for the coming years, that is yet to be determined. While this news makes me sad, it sits better with me than if he told me that he was being deployed. I recognize that I need to be ready for the day that I do hear that bit of news for now I can breathe a sigh of relief.
As for our Christmas celebration, it appears that the holiday is destined to be one of open-mindedness. Who, what, where, and when will be… determined LATER.
