Looking out the office window I could see that the sky had turned a brilliant contrast of red and blue. With keys in hand, I scrambled towards the door. At 4:59 pm, it was close enough to 5 pm to risk missing the evening bed-check. At that moment, I had only one thing on my mind. I rushed to my car, drove out of the garage and parked outside. Then, with camera in hand, I rushed up the street trying to get a nice shot of the sky that would not include wires.
The red was already starting to fade when I found the perfect vantage point. I lifted my lens to my eye, and attempted the shot….but the battery was dead. A little disappointed, I climbed into my car and began heading home. For some reason, I went a took a different route than usual.
Stopped at the light, just prior to the freeway onramp, this scene came into view. I opened my moonroof and snapped a shot. There’s just a hint of the red left in the sky.
