There’s something soothing about watching butterflies move from flower to flower. It’s almost as soothing as sitting on the beach watching the waves go in and out. Here, I have both.

Football at Sunset
Family gatherings are great for games: Scrabble, Hide-N-Go-Seek, Charades, and Football.
It’s also a good way to work off the turkey dinner.
Heading back down south
It’s been a few years since we’ve spent Thanksgiving with the family in Southern California. Generally, we stay at the beach house on Seal Beach when we come. It’s the perfect venue for the family events. Equipped with 14 tiny bedrooms, each with twin sized bed, a sink, bedside table, and flashlight. Oh yeah, AND a crucifix. Did I mention that the house belongs to the nuns?
In anticipation of a grand adventure, I took the day off from work. Since YaYa’s school only had a half day scheduled, I considered taking him out for the day. Unfortunately, his teachers decided to schedule tests. On the day before Thanksgiving! I would be less inclined to complain but this same school has scheduled “Bishop’s Day Off” on Monday. If they’d asked me, I’d have suggested that the Bishop take Wednesday off instead. *sigh*
ANYWAY, we hit the road at the same time the rest and began heading down south…
rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
I’m not too good at warming the bench. I get antsy and impatient. Sadly, each start seems to be a false start.
So today, I limped to my favorite running store: the one I used to help out at — until life got too busy. There, I got taped up and given a compression sleeve to wrap my weary muscle in. Now, I am rollin’ out my muscles like a large piece of dough…and praying a little too.
Basketball Practice
Back and forth, back and forth. At basketball practice, the boys run back and forth — from one end of the basketball court to the other.
