I’m not a fair weather runner normally, but today was different…
I groaned, glanced at the clock, and suddenly remembered that I was to go running in 30 minutes. I was out of bed and down the stairs in a hurry. After letting the dogs out, I made myself a cup of coffee. The house phone let out it’s shrill cry just moments later. Trying to sound awake, I said “Hello”. On the other end of the line was Mark, the father of my teen sitter.
Mark was calling to inform me that my sitter had a bad case of the “crude.” I wasn’t out of luck, however; her family was willing to have YaYa go to their house while I ran. I looked out the window as the wet dogs returned to the door. The rain was coming down in buckets.
Just then, a text message arrived from Mike (a guy I met from my TNT experience). Mike also noted the storm, and asked if we were still on. “How bad is this rain supposed to be?” I asked Mark.
Mark retrieved his paper and noted that it would rain buckets all day long. Tomorrow would only be “showers” he said, extending his offer to watch YaYa on either day.
I quickly called Mike and explained the options. It was agreed that we would put off the run for another day. And while the call could have ended right there, Mike and I began talking about other things.
We talked about long run pace, our goals for Napa, each of our marathoning histories, how we both stayed up late watching movies last night (including how I was just waking up), and even who “PC” was in my twitter tweets. I said “see you tomorrow” no less than 6 times before we actually hung up.
Afterwards, I got an email from him that read, “Cool call this morning…fun waking up with you. See you tomorrow!”
This could get interesting…

This whole thing brought a smile to my face.
Also, I can’t believe it’s only two weeks to Napa!!

I have to ask: “is he cute?” Sorry, you know we all want to know:)

That’s funny. Even funnier is my answer because I haven’t actually seen him close up. We’ve only run past each other on the track. He doesn’t have much hair but he has a nice smile. Can’t say much more than that at this point.

I have found through personal experience that bald head + nice smile = pretty perfect.
Good luck no matter what happens!

A nice face is good; hair is overrated when it comes to men. BTW: Where’s the update to this matter?
Just showing the love…
