Well it is November 30th, the last day of the month, and the last day of my commitment to NaBloPoMo. It isn’t as hard to post daily when nobody is expecting it. It *is* challenging, however, to post everyday when you know that it is expected of you.
Oh the pressure, and I wasn’t even an official participant. NOT official, and therefore not eligible for valuable prizes. So, I hope you won’t mind that I gave myself a little award. *sheepish grin*
The NaBloPoMo was sort of a survival game. Survival of the fittest, and I survived. *whew*
Speaking of survival of the fittest…
I am not feeling the least bit “fit” these days. I tried returning to working out, but it hasn’t been a successful return. My foot is pain free as long as I don’t flex my foot too far. I can walk fine. What I cannot do, however, is stretch my foot in bed in the morning when I wake up. I do it as part of my natural waking up cycle, and then my foot lets me know that all is not fine.
It isn’t what I would call “pain” but it isn’t normal either. If I could get confirmation that my tendons are just weak and tight, or that the bones are settling back into the movements, and all was just fine to proceed, I would go for it. I have run through much more intense discomfort successfully. But I can’t ignore this. The image of my bones scraping each other runs through my head. Since I cannot see through my skin, I have to trust that my bones are aligned just right, and that these feelings are just that a little more time is needed for healing.
Well, I *did* run on the treadmill on Monday without pain. I have a theory about that too. I think that the reason why the treadmill felt okay at a faster speed is because I didn’t need to push off with my foot. I only needed to lift my foot up and let it fall back down. Swimming was good, but it wasn’t “twinge” free either.
I had an appointment with the podiatrist scheduled for Friday morning. I was looking forward to it. My list of comments and questions was brewing. My appointment, however, was rescheduled until Monday afternoon. *sigh* It’s just as well; my boot wasn’t going to be coming off just yet anyhow.

Congrats on your dedication to blogging – good show!
Good luck with your foot appointment. Maybe moving the appointment was a message from on high that you need to NOT run this weekend. You’re almost there, though.

I think not pushing off with your foot is a good thing, at least this is something I have learned in my short tenure. Congrats! Nice reward too :-)
