I’ve been having words with a few of my friends. This has proved to be a mixed bag. I don’t have as large of a vocabulary base to pull from as I’d like. Subsequently, I often find myself searching my mind for a word for way too long. ‘Cuz you know, not just any word will do in times like these.
One needs just the right word, the right letters, the right spot to place it, and a few vowels would be nice too.
Of course, if I can’t get that, I may be forced to make it up as I go. You’d be surprised at how well that works. In fact, it was working a whole lot better than using my limited vocabulary.
One bonus feature is the educational factor it provides. YaYa added a “G” to “RIOT” for “GRIOT.” I had to look it up. The word refers to “A storyteller in western Africa who perpetuates the oral tradition and history of a village or family.” Who knew? Certainly YaYa didn’t. He does now though. I made sure of that.
