When the boys were toddlers I used to play a game we called Tickle Tackle where I would basically tickling them until they yelled out “stop please.” If they didn’t say “please,” I would keep the torture going. Once they caught their breath, a timid “tickle please” could be heard. They loved it.
Years later, all I heard was football. They constantly worked on me, but I insisted they wait until high school before any tackling of the sport. Then I hoped they’d forget all about it. Of course they didn’t.
With YaYa, it was impossible to forget while BoBo was playing. Idolizing his older brother, he naturally was game for anything and everything his brother suggested. So instead of one child asking for Pop Warner, I had both of them working me. I finally caved, thinking I’d sign YaYa up, he’d try it, hate it, and I’d never hear about it again.
Guess you know how that turned out.
If you have young boys you’ll know what I mean when I say that the air needs clearing from time to time. Although this could be taken figuratively, I mean it in the most literal sense. Add a dog and football to the mix and — well, you get the idea.
I burned some incense the other day – which YaYa thought was pretty cool. Incense isn’t always an option. And I simply can’t keep the windows open 24/7.
My colleague has these fragrance beads at her desk ‘tho I’m not sure why; I swear I’ve showered. Any-who, I’m thinking they might be a nice thing to leave lying around as they don’t require the careful attention that burning requires. I just have to find a scent which won’t leave me with a headache. I’m a little sent-sative.
Since the boys are home alone during the day, I’ve tried to remove all temptation from the house while YaYa is trying to meet the weight requirements for football.
So while my household is starving for sweet, sweet carbs, they are being served up all pretty and dipped in dark chocolate at my work.
Shh…
Don’t tell YaYa. He’ll be so bummed.

Slowly but surely…

I’m building up the strength to take on new challenges, new adventures, and with any luck, new achievements.
