Yoga and Cycling: TOGETHER?
Spinning and Yoga brought together into one session or “practice”? It sounds funny at first but keep an open mind here. When you think about it more, the two activities compliment each other rather nicely. I first heard about this new trend in the fitness world from theMAN himself. It was something that he wanted to not only experience, but learn its ins and outs, then share with his students.
I’m not sure when he heard of it first. It may have been even before he’d even finished securing his yoga certification. He’s kind of like that: always thinking ahead and dreaming up the next adventure to bring to reality.
If anyone could make it happen, it would be him.
Poppy Song
Poppies, golden Poppies, gleaming in the sun,
Closing up at evening, when the day is done.
Pride of California, flower of our state
Growing from the mountains, to the Golden Gate.
Flower of the hillside, flower of the plain.
Flower of the sunshine, flower of the rain.
California’s children, be they far or near,
Love the golden poppy, of our state so dear.

Mini BOP
Since the time change, I’ve been getting home before the sun sets. The evening light is amazing. It invites me outside to enjoy the last bit of the day. In this way, I no longer feel as if I’ve missed it all.
I grab my camera and head out. I make my best attempt in preserving the beauty of the magic in this time of year. It’s a nice contrast to the sadness that comes from losing so many loved ones in March.
Although my initial flower of interest was the California Poppies at the end of the block, these mini Bird of Paradise (BOP) flowers really catch the sunlight. I’d be a fool to pass them by without another look.
They are smaller than the traditional BOP and topped with yellow instead of orange.
YaYa has been sick for nearly 4 weeks now. I don’t mean a few sniffling, sneezes, stuffy head, fever, unable to rest sick. I mean full on harsh coughing, head pounding, antibiotics, cough medicine, and cough drop taking madness — during ALL hours of the day and night!
He has been laying low (sort of). Apparently, not low enough.
During the wee hours of the night, the coughing rose to a new level: a wake the dead sort of level.
So I dug out my old stethoscope to get a good listen at what was going on. Sure enough, rattles throughout with diminished aeration to the lower lobes bilaterally. We were off to the doctor in no time. Now, he has a couple new meds and I have permission to beat on him regularly. If I don’t beat the snot out of him, I’ll at least beat enough sense in him to stop going outside barefoot and shirtless.
Err… Maybe.
