I love watching wee one’s at play — especially little girls. It has a way of taking me back to the days of my own carefree childhood where hunting or hiding treasures was a part of everyday life.
This little doll may be wearing pink, but I have a feeling that she would give the boys a run for their money in any competitive venture. Then again, I may be projecting the image of Little Julie upon her.
When I was young I wore flowery dresses made by my grandma pretty much everyday. This was not really by choice. I hated that the yard duty wouldn’t let me hang upside down on the monkey bars because my underwear were showing. Seriously? After a summer of wearing nothing but my swimsuit, hollering about a little bit of cotton showing seaming so trivial. Anyway, when I was able to sneak out of the house with short under my dress, one of my favorite playground activities was racing the boys: climbing up the tall metal tee-pee or running on the grass from one end of the field to the other.
Anyhow, the moments I spent listening to little miss pretty-in-pink was simply delightful. And I hope that she found many treasures, BIG and small.
