The days ’till marathon #17 are quickly moving into single digits. I should’ve run my Yasso 800 repeats last night, or tonight even. But I didn’t.
You see, I’ve had a lingering discomfort in my left knee which ranges from twinge to pain. I became aware of this a week or so ago and attribute it to the increased focus on pavement running (specifically running on the cambered shoulder of the road). Whether or not pavement running is the cause matters not. What matters is that I get better by race day. So I’ve gone one step beyond the typical pre-marathon taper.
In lieu of running, I’m stretching and cuddling up to my TP massage tools. Fingers crossed that recovery comes quickly.

wow! #17?!? pretty awesome. Enjoy your down time. Everything hurts during taper :-)

Hoping you’re right, Wes.

sending healing vibes, virutal icy hot & an ice pack for your knee twinge. hang in there.

thinking of you! Should’ve gotten 12 in today, before my taper, but had some issues. Just got a short run in today and am hoping that’s good. I made 11 last week on time, so that should be ok for the half in two weeks, right? You’ll be healed up and ready, Juls. :)
