I’ve run only a couple of times since Santa Barbara. It feels good to tie my hair up and go. Already, I’m itching to plan my next race. Although it is really too soon to launch back into training again, because of the new job and all, the Napa Valley Marathon sure looks appealing.
What races are you planning for 2010?

Cowtown Marathon in FW for sure. NYC for sure (yay!!). In between, I’m toying with the idea of going for Marathon Maniacs and knocking a few states off my list by doing Little Rock in March and Oklahoma City in April. The only way I get my butt off the couch and on the streets is to pay for a race. Sad, but true. And I’d like to have a few more races under my belt before NYC so I can be total tourista and enjoy the scene and not worry about how I’ll perform.

Wow! That’s quite a busy race schedule. I totally get the need to have a scheduled race to keep you going. I’m currently struggling with that.

IM Arizona!! LOL…

The funniest part about that, Wes, is that I forgot I disabled comments. I need MORE coffee.

Here you go:
Houston in January (we Chevron are the sponsor and I got’s to go, heck of a race too). Rodeo Run 10K in February, 10,000 cowboy and girl wannabees. Return to Boston in April. So you need to lock-down that BQ in Napa, and we’ll re-up for 2011.
Juls says
I just need to get that BQ, then we can finally meet. BOSTON 2011!

Kaiser Half Marathon, maybe
Oceanside 70.3
Vineman 70.3
IM Canada – maybe
if not that I might run a marathon with my daughter. It will not be SB, though. Those last 2 hills were killer, non?
Maybe San Diego Rock ‘n Roll. I like that one. I’d love to do the Napa Half but we’ll see. I’d have to skip Kaiser if I did.
So many races, so little money!
Juls says
Kaiser Half: I might wanna do that one. Vineman: Are you registered already? I really think I need to do some sprints and olympic distance courses before I commit to Vineman.

Have you run Napa before? It’s a great course. I ran it in 2005 and would like to return someday. Got my PR there, but it was raining and windy.
So, about Big Sur. How would you compare the Carmel hills to the last hill in Santa Barbara?
Juls says
I’ve run Napa a few times and, as my first marathon which I ran with my husband, it holds a special place in my heart. My PR is from Napa as well. As for Big Sur, it’s my 2nd favorite. The hills are more intense than Santa Barbara (especially Hurricane Point) but the website points out the hilly course better so anyone going into it should know what they are in for. I wasn’t as prepared for the hills in Santa Barbara as I should have been.

Houston 1/2 in January, Texas Independence Relay in March, Zooma Austin in April, Lonestar tri in April, Trigirl in May, CB&I Tri in May and possibly NYC depending on the lotto….
