Right now, it’s hard to recap my SJ Rock ‘n Roll race experience. As the busy weekend winds down, this race seems so far behind me — yet it was only this morning.
I’ll say this:
- I am thrilled to report that I conquered the race which sidelined me in 2006. And I WAS nervous. I raced cautiously, owning the closest-to-level section of the often cambered roadway.
- More than that, I am proud to have achieved my goal of breaking 2 hours. I finished in 1:55:28 per Ms. Garminia.
- Finally, I am honored to have been a part of Wendy’s sister, “Sissy”‘s 1st half marathon experience. Despite minimal training, she plugged along and came away looking for the next one. I love that.

Congratulations to all of you! It’s very cool to be a part of someone’s first. I love that post run picture!
They had live tracking during the race and I was able to track my brother. He called me to find out his finish time while he was still at the venue. LOL.

Congrats! I’m wondering why Beer City USA didn’t have free beer after the marathon on Sunday. Unless I missed it somehow…

Oh, and I’m glad to have had Ms. Garminia clinging to my the entire way as it appears my chip was not working. I have NO TIMES listed in the official results.
