Just for fun, I’ve written the following post in a narrative fashion which is similar to those which I write all day long for work. I hope you will find it entertaining…
This spontaneous report received from a nurse, reporting on herself, describes a 43 year old female subject who experienced euphoria and a sense of accomplishment after a tempo running. Medical history included seasonal allergies, borderline hypertension, and grief-related symptoms following the loss of her husband. Concomitant medications included a frequently forgotten multivitamin NOS (not otherwise specified).
On 15 September 2009 at 12 pm, the subject initiated a 5-6 mile tempo run for the indication of marathon training with the goal of Boston Qualification. On the same day, approximately 30-40 minutes into the run, she experienced a feeling of euphoria and a sense of accomplishment. At approximately 1 pm, the run was discontinued and the event of euphoria resolved within the hour (exact time not reported). As of 18 September 2009, the event of feeling a sense of accomplishment was ongoing. The reporting healthcare provider (nurse) considered the events related to running. The nurse was planning to rechallenge (reintroducing running to see if the events returned) however, this had not occurred at the time of the report.
