We are back home…
- Back in my own comfy bed.
- Back to where the coffee is drinkable.
- Back to our tail wagging, snoring and heavy breathing, farting dogs.
- NOT back to work. Yay!
I must say, it was really hard leaving Southern California. Our trip was graced with fabulous weather. YaYa and I had such a grand time with the family and friends. I would have loved to have stayed longer but, for many reasons, could not.
Although we got lucky traffic wise, the trip home took nearly 7 HOURS. By the end of it, my right knee hurt so badly that I was pining for Vicodin, an above the knee amputation, and a new car. The MommyVan has never been kind to me on long trips. I’ve about had it. All I can say is that it is good that I had cruise control at my disposal. Without it, I wonder if I’d be able to walk. Seriously! Traveling by car should not be so painful. Running never beat me up this badly (at least that I can remember.)
Although I am not ready to be home, I am relieved that I have a few more days to relax (relative term) before going back to work. There is so much to do to prepare for YaYa’s 11th birthday party and his return to school.
I might even carve out a bit of time to look for an economical car to ease the pain of my soon-to-be extended commute.

I JUST wrote something called “home sweet home” last night too! That’s funny! And I’m sure you’ve have had similar pain from running (remember your tips for crawling backwards up stairs?), but “not being able to remember it” is what gets you out there again. :) We’re in full get-ready-for-school and two birthdays in one week mode around here, too.

Cash for clunkers! Check out the Prius. I love my car!

Unfortunately, the MommyVan doesn’t qualify as a clunker.
