I have had to accept the fact that I will be moving my office. What’s more, I have had to accept that my office will be downsized to a cubicle. It’s been many years since I’ve lived the cubicle life. The change should be interesting.
In preparation for the change, I’ve begun packing up my personal belongings: text books, framed photos of Tom and the kids, plants, artwork that hung on my doors and walls, and various nicknacks that resided on my desk and bookshelves. I am sad to see the result. My office has gone from homelike to barren. The effect is uninspiring.
While I know that there will be room for some of my personal belongings, I am unsure how much will come accompany me to my new locale. I’ve taken the boxes home to my garage for the time being.
