Just after I posted about running being a struggle, I had an awesome run. My exact words were “kick @ss” actually. I wondered if the cool morning, or restarting my allergy meds, had anything to do with it but I honestly didn’t care why, I was just happy for it.
This morning, I caught a few minutes of the Boston Marathon, before heading off to work. Of course, I had hopes for the American runners: Kara Goucher and Ryan Hall. I got to see so little, that it almost didn’t matter if I turned on the TV or not. Thank goodness for DVR.
While I do enjoy seeing the elite runners doing their thing, I would love to see more coverage on the general field. I’d love to see footage on people who have fought hard for their BQ and emerged triumphantly at the start in Hopkinton.
I want to see them running the race, taking in the whole experience for the 1st time — the cheers, the high-fives, and the emotions. Of course, I’d love nothing more that to experience it first hand. Someday, it will be my turn to race on Patriot’s Day. Until then…
