My alarm had gone off on time, but I wasn’t ready to rise to the occasion. It was only after a full hour of fighting with my thoughts that my feet finally hit the floor. I did my best to put on a cheery disposition while waking Y up. He pleaded for more time in bed, but I denied him of it. We were already late enough.
Leading the dogs downstairs and outside for a bio-break, I discovered that Lucky had already taken his break on my kitchen floor. *sigh* Apparently, the alarm clock was successful at waking HIM up.
I put cereal and milk out for Y, checked my work email, and then took my coffee upstairs. Y was taking his time getting ready, and Ronin wasn’t giving him much privacy to do so. As usual, his shoes were MIA again. I only hoped that Ronin had not gotten a hold of them.
I went down the hall to my room, opened my dresser drawers, and then perused my closet. With little enthusiasm for the day ahead, it was hard to find the right clothing wear. Nothing jumped out at me, so I grabbed the first few things that I saw and put them on. A few minutes later, we were out the door and on our way to Y’s daycare.
As soon as we were through the door, the green hue of the center stimulated my brain into awareness. Today is St. Patrick’s Day! Dressed in red and gray, it was clear that I had not made a wise choice in apparel for the day. *sigh*
Fortunately for me, Y’s shirt had a bit of green in the color scheme, thus saving me from taking him back home to change. I resisted the urge to return home to my soft, warm, GREEN sheets.
