Here I am sitting in the stands watching another football practice. While BoBo does his QB thing, I watch another set of players doing drills. They are awkward, with their large bodies, trying to manuver side to side and around the closely placed cones. I’d like to try it just to see if it is as hard as they make it look. I figure it must be because their bodies are so bulky. It isn’t until 20 minutes later, when they begin the sprints, that it occurs to me that perhaps it is just the heat.
I can relate.
Just 1 hour earlier, I was running on the trail and feeling drained. It was miserable, and I felt like I was moving at a snail’s pace. The heat just beat down on me, melting me to the ground.
I ran on the trail and tried to escape from the job hunt game, but it followed me to the trail. With YaYa still in camp, and having just dropped BoBo at football, I had about an hour to get a run in. I carried my cell phone with me just in case anyone needed to reach me urgently. My phone never rings…except today.
