Running back and forth between baseball games tonight was sort of fun. Except for the fact that both of my boy’s teams were losing. I’ve missed a lot of BoBo’s games because they are at the same time as YaYa’s. Today, I decided to spend an hour at one and then go to the others.
It began with BoBo’s team getting creamed in one innings time. The other team knew the weak spot, # 7, who was out in left field. They hit one ball after another in his direction and just ran home – over and over again. Maybe they would come back. I couldn’t wait any longer. I left when the score was 11:1 and went to YaYa’s game.
I arrived at field on time for the kid pitch portion of YaYa’s game. It’s the slow part of the game because there isn’t much hitting. The kid pitch portion comes after 3 full innings of machine pitch. At this point in the game the score was FUN to fun. The OTHER team was having a lot more fun than ours. YaYa was in the dugout when I arrived. Oblivious to the score, he was happy as can be. It wasn’t long before he was up to bat and was walked. He stole 2nd AND 3rd base and soon was running home (on a walk). Final score was FUN:fun (17:9)
Well, who’s keeping score. Nobody – right? It’s little league and we all know that it is ALL about the Snack Shack. Nothing like chili cheese nachos to make it all better.
