Claiming that all of his friends and cousins his age had mobile phones, YaYa begged for one of his own. But I insisted that there was no need. Then thoughts of him lost at JFK, with me at the other end of the country, began running through my head and suddenly it seemed like the perfect gift – for him AND me.
Happy 12th Birthday, YaYa!!!

Life is a journey and, for me, running is a huge part of it. Just like a great run, it has easy and tough parts. It is beautiful at times and ugly at others. Hopefully, I will reach the finish feeling good about what I have accomplished and leave a long trail of bread crumbs to show, those that wish to know, where I have been.
