It’s been an interesting week. What else do I expect after 5 days off from work? Little YaYa has been learning about deadlines this week. Although his book report’s due date did not change, his work load was bogged down with unfinished class work. It caught him off guard and sent him into a seemingly unending tailspin. But he persisted.
For two nights in a row, the poor lad worked well into the late of night to complete his regular homework in addition to chipping away at the report. On Wednesday, when Support Group eats up a bit of the evening, his brain was too tired to finish his math. He went to bed with unfinished work waiting for him to rise in the morning and resume the efforts. And this morning was more of the same, only it was the final steps of the book report.
While I drove BoBo to school, YaYa resumed his work. I returned home with hot chocolate and a bagel with cream cheese. It set me back 20 minutes, but seeing YaYa’s satisfaction at being able to turn in a quality assignment and meeting the deadline, was priceless.
The traffic was light, so I arrived at nearly the usual time. TGIF!

What a great kid and a great lesson! Good job Mom – offering support, but letting him deal. Nice one.
